Youngpool Technology Auto Splitting Machine Enhances the Stability of SMT Warehouse Reel Splitting Operations

In SMT production environments where high-mix, low-volume manufacturing has become the norm, the frequency of material circulation between the warehouse and the production line continues to increase. Reel splitting, as a critical pre-issuance process in material handling, directly determines the quantity accuracy and takt stability of subsequent kitting operations.
Traditional reel splitting relies entirely on manual material separation and counting, with no equipment assistance. While this approach may be manageable at low workloads, an increase in reel splitting volume or frequent specification changes significantly amplifies repetitive counting tasks, placing a heavy burden on operators. Influenced by factors such as individual experience, operating habits, and visual fatigue, the consistency of manual splitting results is difficult to maintain over time, introducing uncertainty into downstream kitting and line-feeding processes.
To address the requirements for accuracy and controllability in reel splitting operations, Youngpool Technology has introduced the D-1 Auto Splitting Machine, which integrates reel splitting and component counting into a unified workflow. During the splitting process, the system uses a CCD industrial camera to simultaneously perform component counting, achieving a stable counting accuracy of over 99%. This reduces manual intervention points and ensures greater consistency in reel splitting results.
The D-1 supports integration with MES systems to receive reel splitting instructions and also allows manual input of target quantities, enabling compatibility with different warehouse management modes. In terms of format adaptability, the machine supports commonly used tape widths of 8, 12, 16, and 24 mm, and enables fast changeover through an automatic track-switching system, meeting the requirements of parallel operations with multiple specifications. Its compact overall structure allows flexible deployment at warehouse workstations, helping to improve on-site space utilization efficiency. Combined with functions such as count result output and label printing, reel splitting data can be clearly recorded and transmitted, providing reliable traceability for subsequent material flow.
Although reel splitting does not directly participate in placement production, its operational quality has a fundamental impact on material usage accuracy across SMT lines.
